With two Purple belts now at the club we are now officially striping those at white belt, when the time is right. Not just because we can but with Darren and Helen so busy it’s hard for them to be able to stripe and grade everyone when they visit – so we’re lending a helping hand.
First in line for stripes are James Hoy and Rick Astley. Both really high end white belt grapplers who have such a well rounded game and positive attitude to training.
We’ve known James for a long time and although he now lives in Worksop, he still finds time to get down on the weekend and support Factory BJJ in whatever ways he can. Always calm and collected when rolling and always on the hunt for new ways to diversify his game, James has well and truly kicked in the door of blue belt, so grading him to White 3 was a very easy decision.
Rick Astley (now White 2) has been training with us at Revolution and now at Factory for just over a year. In that time he’s really benefited from the small sessions we have and the deep pool of talent we’ve got at the gym. Always one to integrate what we’re covering into his game, his freakish flexibility and laid back rolling style have seen him develop a well rounded game in a very short space of time.
Both typify what we’re all about at Factory BJJ and it’s a pleasure and privilege to have them as part of the team.
Congratulations guys from Me, Doug and everyone else at Factory BJJ – you both deserve it!
P.s the photo was my idea, hope you like it.

Thanks to Doug and Adam and congrats to Rick!
Congrats again guys, you’ve both deserved stripes for a good while and you’re wearing them well!
Excellent work you guys. It looks like you have a great team and support. Stick with BJJ.
Thanks Anthony, appreciate the kind words.
Hey, I look at all your blogs, keep them coming.
