Adam Adshead – 2nd Degree Black Belt
Adam started his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey in February 2004. He gradually ascended through the ranks until he earned his Black Belt in November 2014 from the esteemed Chris Haueter in Los Angeles, California.
As a seasoned competitor, Adam has showcased his skills on the international stage, participating in prestigious events such as The World Championships, The Pan Ams, and The No Gi European Championships. Notable accomplishments in the Under 64kg division include submitting a Brown Belt World Champion at the 2012 IBJJF European Championships and clinching victory at the 2017 IBJJF London Open as a Black Belt (both in the adult divisions).
Adam has also proudly represented Team UK at the Polaris Squads event in 2020 and engaged in super-fights from 2016 to 2021. With a record of 1-1-1, he continues to share his wealth of knowledge by teaching all classes, except Friday evening and Sunday’s.

Leroy Smith – 1st Degree Black Belt
Leroy Smith has been an integral part of the Kids Classes at Factory BJJ since their inception. Balancing his role as a Primary School teacher, Leroy seamlessly merges his passion for education with his love for Jiu Jitsu.
Achieving his Black Belt in December 2019 and earning his 1st degree in 2022, Leroy’s commitment extends to international competition, notably reaching the Masters 2 absolute division final at the IBJJF Paris Open in 2019 after only four weeks as a Black Belt and being the smallest in the division.
Leroy imparts his knowledge to both kids and adults, teaching Saturday Kids Classes and providing cover for adult classes.

Gareth Ogden – Black Belt
Gareth (Gaz) Ogden has over 30 years of martial arts experience, having trained in Karate and Muay Thai from the age of 7 before finding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in his mid-20s. In that time, he has earned a 3rd degree black belt in Karate and a black belt in BJJ. He has competed internationally in respective arts, medalling at black belt in the European and World Karate Championships and in BJJ from white to brown belt.
Professionally, Gareth works in performance psychology, specializing in leadership and talent development. Having worked with clients from business leaders and media professionals to world level athletes, he currently works with global organisations – developing systems and approaches designed to optimise talent and improve business outcomes. His professional work is very much embedded in his approach to learning Jiu-Jitsu.

Rian Perry – Brown Belt
Rian Perry’s journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu started in 2013 during his Mixed Martial Arts training in London. Joining Factory BJJ in 2017 as a Blue Belt, he rapidly progressed under Adam’s guidance, attaining the rank of Brown Belt in 2023.
A seasoned competitor, Rian boasts victories at events such as the English Open, IBJJF London Open, and the UK Services Championships across different belt levels. Joining the coaching team in 2023, Rian brings a decade of experience, complemented by his Level 2 referee certification and extensive background in armed forces physical training.
Always approachable, Rian teaches the Friday Evening class and is available for coaching whenever he steps onto the mat.

Steve Feeney – Brown Belt
Steve Feeney’s martial arts journey originated in boxing, evolving into a passion for grappling in 2003. As a full-time MMA coach, Steve’s expertise extends to coaching Cagewarriors-level fighters and training novice boxers for a prominent White Collar Boxing promotion.
A gold medalist at the IBJJF Amsterdam open in 2018, Steve’s Jiu Jitsu style blends sport and self-defence, emphasising solid fundamentals. A patient and positive coach, Steve teaches both Gi and No Gi in our No Gi and Day Time classes.

Peter Muskett – Purple Belt
Peter Muskett, a dedicated member since 2019, has been an invaluable asset to Factory BJJ. Assisting Adam with the Intro Class and contributing to the kids’ sessions, Peter’s coaching prowess extends from lacrosse teams to American-style marching bands.
With a Level 1 yoga instructor qualification and ongoing pursuit of Level 2, Peter adapts his coaching to various learning styles. Bringing a wealth of experience in full-body coordination, Peter teaches Yoga for BJJ, Intro Classes, assists with White Belt & Kids Classes, and provides cover as needed.

Sam Billington – Purple Belt
Sam Billington, with six years of BJJ experience, joined Factory as a blue belt in 2021 and quickly earned his purple belt in 2022. Applying his background in corporate development, Sam employs innovative coaching methods, incorporating drills, games, and situational work.
Active in the local competition circuit, Sam leads our 6:30am classes and steps in for class cover as required.
